Our alumni have gone on to get accepted at prestigious graduate schools such as the Rhode Island School of Design, the Maryland Institute College of Art, and UE Germany, land roles at multinational companies including Apple and Talabat, and expand their practice through founding design studios, teaching the next generation of designers, and leading design cultures at various product companies. They continue to spread the ethos of NYUAD design through their work.

Celia Forster

2024

Celia Forster (NYUSH 2024) is pursuing a Master's in Education at Harvard, exploring the nexus of psychology and emerging media in education. With a focus on Chinese digital culture and AI in learning, she advocates for culturally responsive pedagogies. As a Visiting Student Research Assistant at NYU Abu Dhabi, Celia crafted interactive art installations and utilized creative coding and physical computing to bring interactive art concepts to life.

Roudhah Hamad Al Mazrouei

Roudhah is a visual artist whose work, primarily in oil, reflects Emirati culture and values. Her achievements include involvement in the 2021 ADA Pavilion project, interactive sculptures at COP 28 and Sikka Art Fair 2024, and receiving the Christo and Jeanne-Claude Award in 2022. Roudhah is also active in educational initiatives at 421 and the Arts Proxy Program at NYUAD. She holds a BA in Visual Arts and Art History from NYUAD and is pursuing an MFA at the Royal College of Art. See her website here.

Gerald Jason Cruz

Jason Cruz is an aspiring architect who graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering and Design. Without an architecture major at NYUAD, Jason has paved his own way toward his architectural aspirations. He has interned at numerous firms in Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Jason's notable projects include winning the Christo and Jeanne-Claude Award in 2022 for "Urban Fabric" and first place in the 2021 Abu Dhabi Art Pavilion Prize for "Impermanence." Megan Marzolf

Megan Marzolf graduated with a BA in Business, Organizations, and Society and minors in Psychology and Design. At NYUAD, she prototyped and developed a new abaya design as a research assistant. She has also interned in Digital Brand Planning at Adidas, worked as a Web Consultant for Graduate Hotels, and curated brand and private event art installations for Girl Friday. She won the Cartier MEIAT University Challenge in 2023.

Tonia Zhang

Tonia is a a graphic designer from China, currently living in the States and pursuing a Graphic Design MFA at Rhode Island School of Design. Her work spans across a number of fields, including Branding, Editorial Design, UI/UX Design, and occasionally Type Design. See her portfolio here.

Amina Kobenova

Working at the intersection between Human-AI interaction, XR & accessibility, Amina is a creative technologist whose work includes creating VR applications that teach empathy and researching inclusive human-computer interactions. As a software engineer, she has worked with companies like Goldman Sachs and imagiLabs. Her projects span coding, design, robotics, and education. She is pursuing a PhD in Computational Media at UC Santa Cruz.

Ven Bui

Ven Bui is a designer specializing in digital design, creative coding, and branding. Her work spans multiple disciplines and industries, from f&b concepts to exhibition design. Her client includes Sunlife Vietnam, AIA Myanmar, Bakes (Saigon), Blank Lounge (Saigon), Loiloi Coffee (LA), The New School (New York), and multiple research centers at NYU Abu Dhabi.

Tobbi Vu

Lucy Choi

Lucy Choi is a Product Designer at talabat, Delivery Hero, leveraging her background in Art and Art History from New York University Abu Dhabi. With prior experience at Google and Twitter, Lucy specializes in UX design. Her focus is on crafting intuitive user experiences, utilizing her diverse skill set and passion for effective design to create impactful solutions.

Salman Rouhani

Salman Rouhani is a Luxury Design Specialist who has contributed to projects for renowned brands like Rolex, Dior, and Fendi. He holds a Master's of Advanced Studies in Design for Luxury & Craftsmanship from Écal. Salman also earned a double Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Art & Art-History with a minor in Design from NYU Abu Dhabi. His work has been featured in publications such as Vogue China, Hype Beast, and JFK Germany, among others.

Gábor Csapó

Gábor is an urbanist, hardware hacker and data wrangler currently working at Google in Taiwan. The goal of his work is to understand and improve our living environment with sustainability and people's fundamental needs in mind.

Hayat Al Hassan

Hayat Al Hassan is currently leading Sourcing and Selection at Mubadala's Hub71. With a background in Computer Science from New York University Abu Dhabi, Hayat collaborated on design for Sweech and Bayzat. She also serves as a member of the Youth Science Council at the Federal Youth Authority, focusing on fostering innovation among young entrepreneurs.

Koh Terai

Koh Terai strives for beauty and excellent at the intersection of art, design, product, and technology. Previously, he worked as an Interaction Designer at AGENCY in Singapore and a Design Intern at Takram.

Vasily Rudchencko

Vasily is a Software Engineer at Intel. He previously served as a MASc Student Researcher at the University of Toronto and a Design Engineer and Co-founder at Wadi Drone, where he developed and field-tested an autonomous data-mule glider drone. He also worked on the Burj Shadow Project. He holds a Master of Applied Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from NYU  Abu Dhabi.

Khadija Toor

Khadija received her B.A. in Visual Art from NYU Abu Dhabi in 2016. She is currently the Design Lead at R&N Global Solutions. In the past, she worked as a UI/UX Designer at Compare.com and a Designer at The Delma Institute. See her Behance here.

Arfa Rehman

Arfa Rehman was a co-founder of The Design Collective at NYU Abu Dhabi. She has had her artwork exhibited in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and France. She graduated from NYUAD in 2015 as a double major in Social Research & Public Policy and Visual Arts and went on to be a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford. She is currently a founder, designer, and product leader based in SF.

Daria Soroko

Daria was an active contributor to the Design Collective and numerous works of design while at NYUAD. She pursued her MS in Digital Media at the University of Bremen. She is currently a Research Associate of Information Systems and Socio-Technical Systems Design (WISTS) at Universität Hamburg Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences (Computer Science). Erin Collins

Erin Collins is a visual designer, researcher, and educator with a BA in Visual Art and in Cognitive Science from New York University Abu Dhabi and an MFA in Graphic Design from Maryland Institute College of Art. Her research interests are at the intersection of design, cognitive science, sustainability, and health. She currently manages the Visual Design Lab at NYUAD and supports the university’s Art & Art History BA and Design minor program through teaching and design activities.
