Naksh

Naksh is a research and design project performed by Tobbi Vu, under the guidance of Professor Goffredo Puccetti, as part of the Post-Graduation Practical Training Program 2021 at NYU Abu Dhabi.

The project is to digitize the learning process of Arabic calligraphy. With limited time and resources, Tobbi chose to digitize the Naskh script, based on the book The British Museum Arabic Calligraphy - Naskh script for beginners by Mustafa Ja’far. The Arabic pronunciation is based on the online resources from Stanford University.
